Before Booking Skin Boosters: How to Get Ingredients, Delivery Method, Sessions and Total Cost Explained (Samseong Station & COEX)

Skin boosters with the same name can differ in ingredients, how they are delivered into the skin, and the number of sessions recommended. Here are four things to confirm before booking (ingredients and regulatory category, delivery method, sessions and intervals, and the total cost including all sessions), Korea's advance explanation rule for non-covered care, and a list of questions you can use at your consultation.

· Medical Bloom Korean Medicine Clinic · COEX

When comparing skin boosters, the standard is whether you can have four things explained before booking: ingredients, how it is delivered into the skin, the recommended number of sessions and interval, and the total cost including those sessions. Even products called "PN Rebuilder" differ in concentration and the ingredients used with them, and delivery methods differ too, such as microneedling (MTS), ultrasound or direct injection. Under the advance explanation rule for non-covered care in effect since 2021, medical institutions must explain items and prices before non-covered treatment, so ask in advance not only about the price per session but about the cost of the whole plan. Medical Bloom Korean Medicine Clinic · COEX offers skin booster consultations, a 4-minute walk from Seolleung Station exits 9–10.

Look at four things, not the name

What can you ask under the advance explanation rule?

Skin boosters for cosmetic purposes are non-covered care not paid by national health insurance. According to a Dailypharm report, from January 2021 price disclosure for non-covered care was extended to clinics, and an advance explanation rule was introduced requiring items and prices to be explained before non-covered treatment. The same report notes that, beyond the disclosed items, any non-covered item a patient asks about is also subject to explanation.

So feel free to ask the following at your consultation.

  • The item name and price per session for today's treatment
  • The recommended number of sessions and interval, and the total for those sessions
  • Any items added when combined with other treatments
  • For prepaid packages, the refund and transfer conditions for remaining sessions

Is it explained in connection with your own skin concerns?

Skin boosters address a wide range of concerns such as skin tone, fine lines, dryness and sensitivity. The most important point of comparison is whether "why this booster is recommended" is explained in connection with your own skin examination. If texture or pores are your main concern, lasers or other treatments may also be considered, so ask to have the options explained side by side.

What to note down before your consultation

  • One or two concerns that bother you most (tone, dryness, fine lines, acne marks, etc.)
  • Names of treatments you had in the last 6 months and how your skin responded
  • Any experience of your skin becoming sensitive, allergies, and medications you take
  • Important dates and how much time you can spend on recovery
  • The budget you can spend on this round of care

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is one skin booster session enough?

It depends on the type of booster and your skin condition. Most boosters offered at Medical Bloom COEX are based on multiple sessions, so decide together at your consultation how many sessions to plan and when to assess progress.

Q. What is the difference between PN and exosomes?

Their main ingredients and product composition differ. Even products with the same name can differ in ingredients and regulatory category, so we recommend having the product name, ingredients and delivery method explained together at your consultation.

Q. Can I wear makeup right after treatment?

It depends on the delivery method. Microneedling creates tiny channels in the skin, so ask right after treatment when you can wear makeup and wash your face.

Q. Can I consult if I have a fixed budget?

Yes. If you tell us your budget first, we will set priorities within that range and explain them.

Temporary redness, swelling, minor bruising or stinging may occur after treatment, and results and side effects can vary from person to person. Please consult thoroughly with our medical staff before treatment.
